1. Overview & Commitment

At Darts of Fire, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, use, and safeguard information when you use our web application, Progressive Web App (PWA), and remote scoring services.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: If you register or sign in, we process your email address and authentication credentials securely via Firebase Authentication. If you use Guest Mode, an anonymous unique identifier is assigned.
  • Game & Match Analytics: Score history, dart-by-dart placements, 3-dart averages, burndown records, and career stats are synchronized to Cloud Firestore so you can view career heatmaps and ledger records.
  • Local Storage Cache: Game preferences, local profiles, active room codes, and UI theme states are stored locally on your device for instant offline availability.
  • Payment Information: Subscription upgrades (VIP Gold / Pro) are processed securely through Stripe. We do not process or store raw credit card numbers or financial account details on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data solely to deliver and improve application features:

  • Maintain live real-time multiplayer scoring rooms.
  • Calculate accurate career 3-dart averages and performance trajectory trends.
  • Verify account tier entitlements (VIP / Pro subscription benefits).
  • Maintain offline Progressive Web App state and caching.

4. Third-Party Services

We integrate industry-standard third-party providers for authentication, database synchronization, and payments:

  • Google Firebase: Account authentication, cloud database, and rules enforcement.
  • Stripe: Payment processing for Pro / VIP memberships.

5. Your Data Rights & Account Deletion Policy

You have full control over your personal data and may permanently delete your Darts of Fire account and associated cloud data at any time:

  • Instant Self-Service Deletion (Web & App): Sign in to Darts of Fire in any mobile or desktop web browser (https://darts-of-fire.web.app) or native app, open ⚙️ Settings in the top bar, locate the Account & Profile section, and click 🗑️ Delete Account. Confirming the prompt immediately and permanently erases your Firebase Authentication credentials, cloud player profile, and all stored match history.
  • Assisted Email Deletion Request: If you cannot access the web app or have uninstalled it, email support@dartsoffire.app from your registered account address with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". To protect account owners from unauthorized or malicious deletion requests, our support team will send an identity confirmation challenge to your registered email address before executing the deletion. Once verified, your account and cloud data are permanently purged within 48 hours.
  • Data Deleted vs. Retained: Deleting your account permanently deletes your authentication record, email address, cloud profile, and match history from Cloud Firestore. If you previously purchased a Founding Patron or Pro membership via Stripe, legally required tax and transaction invoice records are retained securely by Stripe in accordance with financial tax regulations.

6. Data Retention Periods

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide application services:

  • Account Credentials & Player Profiles: Retained for the lifetime of your active account until you request deletion.
  • Match Analytics & Career History: Linked to your account UID and retained to display ongoing First-9 averages, checkout rates, and heatmaps. Erased immediately upon account deletion.
  • Temporary Multiplayer Room State: Real-time room match data is ephemeral and automatically cleaned up after session completion.
  • Payment Invoices: Transaction records for Pro purchases are retained by Stripe in compliance with statutory financial and tax auditing laws.

7. User Feedback & Content Reporting

When you submit bug reports, feature suggestions, or player moderation flags via the in-app feedback tool:

  • We store the feedback message, optional user email, and anonymous device metadata strictly to investigate software defects and improve user experience.
  • Feedback is never shared with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.

8. Children's Privacy Protection (COPPA / GDPR-K)

Darts of Fire is a sports scoring and training utility designed for physical darts enthusiasts. Steel-tip and soft-tip darts involve sharp projectile equipment and are traditional adult leisure and sports pastimes. Our service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union), and we do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@dartsoffire.app and we will promptly purge the information.
